According to various documents collected by the International Red Cross tracing service (ITS, now the International Center on Nazi Persecution), Chaim Zelewinski was also known under the name Abram Czerwin, specifically Abram Czerwin of Lomza, for whom the birth date is given as 1915.

Chaim Zelewinski was interned at Auschwitz with number 89115 and then transferred to Buchenwald with number 117 334, also recorded in some documents as 11733. On the final ICCR certificate both of the latter numbers occur.

Our source, Jason Grossman, has many documents relating to Chaim Zelewinski, including many from the Arolsen Archives. One group of 6 may be found at https://collections.arolsen-archives.org/en/archive/5713464/?p=1&s=Abram%20Czerwin&doc_id=5713465 in the form of 12 photographs (front/back).

We have another group of 19 documents as a 36 page pdf, documenting the long correspondence with the Bavarian Restitution Department (BLEA) about this matter, from 1955 to 1963.

We mention some of these.
