Julia C. Serbin, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in a local hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Weldon Gann officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Serbin was born Jan. 28, 1933 in Helena, Texas, to the late Fructoso and Helena Guerra Carranza. She married Raul C. Serbin in Memphis, TX on Oct. 15, 1949 and moved to Abilene in 1960. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. Survivors include her husband, Raul Serbin of the home; a son, Roberto Serbin of San Antonio; two daughters, Elizabeth N. Martinez and Sylvia Stevens, both of Abilene; a sister, Maria Soto of Edroy, TX; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. ...
