Known from Harry Cherlin's SS-5 form. There is no information as to whether Harry or Esther came to the U.S., or whether there were other children.
Under "maiden name" on her son's SS-5 form, one sees "Chalen" heavily crossed out, followed by "Unknown". It is (barely) reasonable to think that someone filling out the form miswrote "Cherlin" and then realized this was not the maiden name. This hypothesis casts some doubt on the best form of the name in this line.
