Biographical information:
Brother of Elena Tsirlin.
Born 1880 in St. Petersburg and spent most of his life there. Studied with B. I. Pashkevich, then at the Munich Academy of Photography (1900-1905). Received a medal in Dresden (1905?). Retouched the negative by hand; similar to the work of M. S. Nappel'baum. Worked together with Nappelbaum from 1913.
