Biographical information:

Born 1906.

Sara moved to Leningrad and married Dmitry Chekhmataev.

In 1950 their address was S'ezdovskaya liniya 7-57. In 1969 the corresponding listing was S'ezdovskaya 7, for G. D. Chekhmatayeva, likely a daughter.

Concerning the children: Raisa Zdanevich and Igor Tsyrlin confirm that there were two daughters, and Raisa gives the name Alla for the younger.

There are articles on silicon carbide published by S. M. Chekhmataeva in 1955-1956. As Dmitry Chekhmataev was director of the important State Optical Institute, it would appear that Sara studied chemistry relating to optics (or optics relating to chemistry) and continued to work in the area.

There are also articles relating to optics and spectroscopy by G. D. Chekhmateva, with O. V. Stolbova et al. Stolbova was at the Vavilov State Optical Institute, St. Petersburg, and worked with Professor B. S. Neporent. This suggests the family interest continued in at least one daughter.
