Biographical information:

Born ca. 1874, Rzhishchev. The documents give varied dates, as follows.

Two documents (copy of birth record from 1919, and one at Yad Vashem) give 1869 as the date of birth Court Case A (see Pavel's page) gives his age as 21 in 1895, for a birth year ca. 1874. The family grave (Vostryakovskoe cemetery, Moscow) gives the dateas 1876–1949.

As 1869 was the year of Pinkhus and Sura's marriage, a date of ca. 1874 (possibly 1876) is more plausible.

The entry at Yad Vashem reads as follows.
Lazar Tzyrlin was born in 1869 to Pavel. He was an economic planner and married Fanya. Prior to WWII he lived in Moskva, Russia (USSR). During the war he was in Sverdlovsk, Russia (USSR).
This information is based on a List of evacuated persons found in Lists of residents who were evacuated to Sverdlovsk, prepared in 1942."

The birth certificate gives Rzhishchev (the first mention of the town in the family history). While the date given is doubtful there is no reason to doubt the place.

Note: One common reason for adjusting birth dates was the obligation for universal military service.

The family moved from Rzhishchev to Kiev at the beginning of the 20th century. From at least 1911, when Dina entered school, they were established in Kiev (M-Vasil'kovskaya 16 - 4).

Later, some or all moved to Moscow. In 1922 Dina was still in Kiev, as was Sofya in 1924.

Before WWII, the address of Lazar, Fanya, and Sofya in Moscow was Chkalova 34 - 15 (given in Miron's military record, 1941).

Died Dec. 23, 1949.
