Rabbi
Gorr corresponded with Lennox Cherlin in July 1984, and this
information was passed on to Carlton Brooks in a letter of
May 27, 1986 (17 Iyyar 5746),
reaching us in July, 2005.
Lennox sent the requested information to Rabbi
Gorr (The Jerusalem Institute for Jewish Genealogy, 52/34 Hantke
St., Jerusalem Israel 96782) on July 2, 1984 from
14 Middle Harbour Road, Lindfield, N.S.W. 2070, Australia.
The correspondence concerned the will of a
Bessie Cherlin Glinsky, deceased in the U.S.
- Rookwood Cemetery, Australia
- Documents in Lennox' possession in 1984:
- father's birth certificate, London; Grandfather's marriage
certificate, United Synagogue, London; Father's marriage
certificate, United Synagogue, East London.
Apparently Rabbi Gorr was involved in trying to find
relatives of Bessie Glinsky (nee Cherlin), an American,
in connection with the settlement of a will.
