Biographical information:

From Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipropetrovsk'a, Ukraine). Became a theatrical administrator in Leningrad and died in the Siege of Leningrad, which lasted from Sep. 8, 1941, through Jan. 27, 1944, with some relief after Jan. 18, 1943.
